Numerical Simulation of the Combustion of a Coal Char Particle Spherically Shrinking in a Drop Tube Furnace

Modeling the combustion of a coal char particle in drop tube furnace is still challenge, although different models are available literature. A simple model proposed here which considers single furnace, assuming that shrinking remains spherical during its combustion, among other hypotheses. This much simpler than most ones, as it based on two differential equations respectively describing evolution with respect to time temperature and radius oxygen concentration inside particle. further gives access local quantities allow characterizing process. The simulations performed this validated mainly through comparisons between experimental simulated temperatures under three constant regulation furnace.
